Reasons for Infrared Sauna

Detoxification strengthens the body’s immune system and helps the body’s biochemical processes function efficiently. It cleans the lymphatic system and gives us better able to digest the nutrients in our foods. Our skin is one of the most powerful eliminative organs. Sweating is one of the body’s most natural ways to eliminate toxins through our pores, making it a crucial part of the detoxification process.

Unfortunately with sedentary living and the increased prevalence of chemicals to the skin through soaps, detergents, deodorants, lotions, environmental toxins and pollutions, the skin cannot carry out its designated functions and the pores are blocked. In addition, sun damage seriously impedes the skin’s ability to detoxify. A build-up of toxic substances can lead to a host of common illnesses. United States Center for Disease Control estimates that the root causes of more than 80% of all illnesses are found in personal environments or lifestyles. Ridding the body of these toxins through a natural sauna detox sessions may help relieve symptoms and prevent future illnesses. Lisanne Wellness Centers Detoxification Infrared Sauna sessions, increase circulation and oxygenates the skin, restoring its detoxifying properties and also stimulate cells to release toxins, which can then be eliminated naturally through your pores and by the liver and bowel.

The Journal of the American Medical Association showed that infrared sauna weight loss sessions burn up to 600 calories.2 During a weight loss sauna session, core temperatures increase, metabolic rates increase, and we burn more calories. 3 In a 2009 study, Infrared Sauna sessions were shown to lower weight and waist circumference in just a three-month period. 4 –  What would it take to burn 600 Calories?  *These are estimations and can vary from individual to individual.

Our Infrared Sauna’s heat can assist in breaking down cellulite. Cellulite is a gel-like substance made up of fat, water and wastes which are trapped in pockets below the skin. The Infrared Sauna removes other impurities from your fat cells, specifically the stored waste, harmful toxins such as oxidized cholesterol and heavy metals. Profuse sweating helps clear this form of unwanted debris from the body. Because the heat penetration of infrared saunas is over twice that of conventional saunas and up to ten times the level of heat in these tissues an Infrared Sauna can be significantly more effective than a conventional sauna.

As a health sauna, these treatments heat your muscles with infrared rays and produce an increase in blood flow similar to regular exercise. In fact, blood flow during infrared sauna use has reported rising from a normal rate of 5-7 quarts per minute to as much as 13 quarts per minute.1

The elevation in body temperature can also produce an increase in blood flow that mirrors the benefits of a passive cardiovascular workout. The blood flow can also be beneficial for women with fertility.

Blood flow to the uterus and ovaries can increase egg growth and pregnancy implantation.

Another benefit of improved circulation is a short treatment after your workouts for quick muscle recovery. The increased peripheral circulation from our infrared heat reduces inflammation, decreases pain and speeds healing, all important steps in helping the body recover from strenuous activity.

In a 2005 clinical study by the University of Missouri-Kansas City, Sunlighten’s Solocarbon heaters were shown to lower blood pressure when used for 30 minutes three times a week. The study concluded that dilated blood vessels and reducing the volume of their inner lining, can increase circulation to promote healthy blood pressure.8

A recent Japanese study published in the Internal Medicine Journal showed chronic pain patients experienced a significant reduction in pain levels (nearly 70%) after their first session in an Infrared Sauna. Pain scores remained low throughout the observation period. Researchers concluded that infrared heat therapy is effective for chronic pain treatment.6

In another study conducted in 2003 by the Department of Dermatology and Institute of Medical Research showed the use of near-infrared heat therapy helped the production of white blood cells to alleviate inflammation and reduce swelling, two key factors in the easing bodily pain.7

A study published in The Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy showed significant improvements in skin appearance after just 12 weeks of sauna skin therapy using near-infrared technology. Participants experienced a reduction in wrinkles and crow’s feet, as well as improved overall skin tone, including softness, smoothness, elasticity, clarity and firmness.10

Studies conducted by NASA concluded that NIR LED light significantly promotes faster cell regeneration, wound healing and human tissue growth. Human cell growth increased by 155%-171% in some cases and wound size decreased by 36%.5

Q1 – What is the Temperature?

The temperature of our infrared sauna is typically between 90 – 120 degrees F, Compare this to a traditional sauna, which operates between 180 -220 degrees F.

Q2 – How Infrared Energy Works?

Despite operating at a lower temperature, you will typically perspire far more in an infrared sauna because the infrared energy penetrates your body at a much deeper level. Fat becomes water soluble at 100 degrees F. It begins to dissolve, move through the blood.

Q3 –  How Are Toxins Eliminated?

Toxins are eliminated through your skin using a lower, more comfortable temperature for rapid detoxification.
