5 Easy Ways to Gain Weight and Become UnhealthyLisanne Wellness Center
Remember the movie “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days”? In the movie, Kate Hudson works for a magazine and writes about relationships. Her editor asks her to write an article about how to lose a man in 10 days. In other words, she wanted to know the worst possible things she could do in a relationship to drive a man away. It was basically a “what not to do” piece for women who wanted to find their perfect partner.
Think of this article like that. These are the 7 fastest ways to gain excessive weight, become unhealthy, and put your heart and other organs in danger. If you want a slew of health problems and a shortened lifespan, you’ve come to the right place.
Avoid drinking water: When you drink a glass of water before meals, you’ll fill up your stomach, which leaves less room for calories from food. Water flushes toxins and chemicals from your body, which promotes a proper hormone balance and a healthy weight. Also, when we feel hungry, we are frequently just thirsty. So, when you drink water often, you’re less likely to snack thoughtlessly, and thoughtless snacking is one of the best ways to gain weight.
If you DO want to lose weight: Drink at least eight 8-oz glasses of water every day. You’ll feel full, flush out toxins, and consume fewer calories with every meal. The pounds will fall off and your organs will function at their optimal capacity.
Avoid resistant starch: Resistant starch is starch that is resistant to your body’s natural digestive juices. There are four kinds of resistant starch: RS1 (nuts, legumes, etc), RS2 (found in starchy foods like raw potatoes and green bananas), RS3 (grains like quinoa and rice, cooled to room temperature to make them resistant to digestion), and RS4 (starches that have been chemically modified to make them resistant). Because these starches are resistant to digestion, your body only absorbs a small portion of the calories. You might as well be eating smaller portions if you choose to eat resistant starch. Avoid these starches if you want to consistently gain weight.
If you DO want to lose weight: Incorporate resistant starch into your diet by sprinkling seeds or nuts on your salads, adding flaxseed to your oatmeal, smoothies, or cereal, or cooling down brown rice or quinoa to make salads or wraps.
Use your biggest plate: Study after study has shown that we will fill whatever plate we use. People who use larger plates consume more calories than people who use smaller plates. If you want to gain lots of weight and get unhealthy, use your biggest plate and load it up!
If you DO want to lose weight: Use a smaller than usual plate. You’ll feel like you’re eating more food than you are, so you’ll consume fewer calories overall. For optimal nutrition, fill half the plate with non-starchy vegetables, a quarter with lean protein, and a quarter with a healthy grain, like brown rice or quinoa.
Skip the veggies: Vegetables are the actual WORST thing you can eat when you’re trying to gain weight and get unhealthy. They are full of healthy vitamins and they’re generally very low in calories (so you can eat a lot without feeling guilty). Vegetables are sneaky too and can be added to smoothies without you noticing, so make sure to watch what goes in your blender if someone else is cooking for you.
If you DO want to lose weight: Load up at least half of your plate with vegetables. You can sneak vegetables into smoothies or take a veggie supplement like Vitagenis Power Greens.
Stay up late: Getting less than 7 or 8 hours of sleep every night causes excessive weight to pile on. When you are exhausted from too little sleep, you’re more likely to reach for fatty and sugary treats to help you get through the day. You’re especially likely to give in to cravings in the afternoon once you’ve spent your energy. This is a great way to gain weight without trying.
If you DO want to lose weight: Get at least 7-8 hours of restful sleep every night. If you have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep, try Sleep Strips. They contain hormones that help with all three sleep cycles.
